Blessed Feathers —
I’ve been listening to , “From the Mouths of the Middle Class” lately, and if you haven’t picked up this record you should , because it’s great. It was released in late September, while I was still in Minneapolis and for reasons unknown I totally missed their show, and I’m pretty disappointed, because thanks to the internet, I call these guys my friends. I’m actually pretty excited about an upcoming collaboration between myself and Donivan Berube that I hope to tell you all about soon.
I just put their song “Our Love Was Born in a Factory” on my fall mix- it’s definitely a standout track on the album, there’s this hollowness to it. The two-part harmonies gorgeously swell and fall. There’s an emotive weight to it all- which is surprising if you’ve ever talked to the band. They’re just about the nicest musicians from the Midwest, and that’s saying a lot.
Also, remember that kickstarted I posted of theirs? Well, they reached their goal to purchase a van! Thanks to everyone who chipped in.
