I found out about Jesse Woods a short while ago when I heard his cover of Neon Indian’s ‘Mind Drips’. I knew he was something different, he’s one of those artists that can guarantee you’ll like anything his voice is recorded on. He could sing me my cereal box nutritional information and I would just melt. Soonafter I wrote about his upcoming album and thought it’d be a good idea to invite him to do a mix for the series. Since I got it, I’ve been listening to it a ton, I knew I’d like his mix if it were anything like the inspiration he draws from for his own music, artists like Townes Van Zandt or Bonnie Prince Billy. I especially loved the track by Jolie Holland, no one sings that way anymore. If you haven’t checked out Jesse Woods, you must- his music is exquisite. Grab his EP ‘Moon Rocks’ HERE. And grab his mix, it’s the ticket to your very own salvation.
