tape deck mountain :: ghost

Nada Alic

San Diego’s Tape Deck Mountain’s LP Ghost came out sometime last year, yet I just recently discovered them. I have a deep affection for San Diego music (I’m aware of my inherent bias, yes). But I think they’re really onto something, with awesome organizations like Sezio really giving local artists due exposure and recognition. Tape Deck Mountain has it’s spooky elements, with riffs and lyrics that bear resemblance to the likes of Colour Revolt, but with experimental loops and instrumentation. Check out this video below by Charles Bergquist. I’ve been checking out some of his other Vimeo videos and I wonder if I’ve met him? Or if he by chance, knows my friend Andrea Nakhla, judging from the aesthetic of his videos, I bet they’d be pals. Wherever you are Charles, that Critical Mass video is badass. Riding critical mass in San Diego is one of my favorite things to do.
