The National:: Massey Hall [08.06.10]

I got to check out show last night at Massey Hall with my friend (and to his credit, he has taken me to some of the best shows I’ve ever had the pleasure of going to) and it was incredible. Expected, no less, sitting from the first balcony of Massey Hall watching over constellations of what had to have been 2000 something people. There is something enigmatic about Matt Berninger, which I mostly attribute to his baritone voice and unfairly good looks, but there was a certain synergy about the band that made their performance so effortless. Also on stage were two horn players and a keyboardist/violinist that gave songs their orchestral quality.
A decent amount of High Violet tracks were performed like ‘Bloodbuzz Ohio’, ‘Lemonworld’ and ‘Conversation 16′ and ‘England’ which Berninger admitted to forgetting the words to. Overall the show was expectedly epic and undoubtedly will deliver again tonight.
