send my body out to work

My friend Kenny told me to check out this band, he made a pretty rad mix the other day that included this one Born Ruffians song that he’d been listening to on repeat since I showed him it last year. There are different music listeners, the ones who consume mindlessly and often, who only want whats new and bore easily. Or there are the last remaining fans, the ones who listen loyally, the ones that wait for subtle details in songs, revisiting what it meant to them when they first heard it. Kenny is a loyal listener. Its a wonderful reflection of character. Committed fans are also almost always committed friends and people.
Anyway, are a UK band, and their sound reminds me of Local Natives- with gorgeous harmonies and long vocal stretches. I knew I’d enjoy them when they claimed, “The band’s extracurricular interests include hiking trips, tandem cycling, power-kiting, nature-watching and something called hackisack. None of them have ever been to their Hebridean namesake. But Brian once got to within 37 miles of it.”
