I can be a wolf

Can we talk about this? Of course. I’ve been pretty observant of what’s out there- and it’s getting out of hand. Either that, or my understanding of what art is doesn’t match up with the current trend. Take for example The Flaming Lips‘ ‘I Can Be  A Frog’ with the animal noise accompaniment of Karen O- the reigning queen of Wild Things, or to be more exact- the woman half-responsible for the reawakening of the children in all of us. But are we regressing, or reflecting?

Animal noises in songs are cute, but I fear that with all those sorts of imaginative pieces floating out there that real music gets lost along the way. This song is, adorable but it this whole animal-monster-kid’s choir business is getting ridiculous. I feel like Spike Jonze is the wizard behind the curtain operating the smoke machine. Maybe it’s just novelty music and it will wear out, all I’m sayin is that I really hope bedazzlers don’t make a comeback.
