it’s easy like we did it all _______ long.

With the promise of merciless heat and freckled skin comes every music lover’s endless search to find their ‘summer band’; the music that makes rolling down the windows of a car mandatory, and makes the breeze a touch more enjoyable when it carries this particular band’s sound.
For me that band is – possibly the only group of young French gentlemen whose collective voice doesn’t make me cringe (Quebec’s Malajube not included). They released Wolfgang Amadeous Phoenix in late May, and that gem has carried me all the way through bland Canadian afternoons, overtly busy office life, and the navigation of San Diego’s many highways. From Lasso’s sensational catchiness to 1901’s ability to make my toes tap involuntarily, this album is an ode to all things this swift season encompasses.
